Pair Chase Man Through Parking Lot, Slash Him With Machete: Cops
A verbal argument turned violent Thanksgiving morning, police say.

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY – A man was slashed with a machete in a Long Island parking lot Thanksgiving morning and two people are behind bars, according to police.
Mark Walker, 49, and Taneshia Marshall, 37, became involved in a verbal argument with a 36-year-old man in the parking lot of 918 Main St. in South Farmingdale around 9:40 a.m., Nassau Police said.
Walker and Marshall, who live at the same address on Adams Street in Deer Park, went to their car and got a machete and knife, police said. They then chased the man, who was known to them, through the parking lot before Walker struck the man on his upper back with the machete, police said.

A passerby notified police. A police ambulance transported the victim, who sustained a laceration, to a local hospital where he was treated and released, police said.
Walker and Marshall were arrested at the scene. They are each charged with second degree assault, second degree menacing and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. They will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
