Patch AM Rewind: LI Pride Holding First Celebration In Farmingdale

FARMINGDALE, NY — For the first time in three years, Long Island Pride will shine fully this weekend. The LGBT Network is bringing its celebration of inclusion to Farmingdale on Sunday.

David Kilmnick, the organization's CEO, was a guest on Tuesday's "Patch AM."

"Farmingdale is an amazing downtown with tons of restaurants," Kilmnick said. "Why not bring Pride to downtown Farmingdale and further enhance the quality of life for LGBTQ Long Islanders and families?"

The Main Street parade starts at noon. Many groups are marching, including more than two dozen schools from across the island, but Kilmnick said anyone can participate for free.

The festivities also feature a fair and concerts.

With the forecast calling for sun and mid-70s on Sunday, Kilmnick is expecting at least 10,000 partiers.

"People are ready to come back together and be in person," he said.
