Photos: Flag Day in Farmingdale

A look at the flags being displayed around town.

Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on June 14 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. Congress enacted National Flag Day in 1949 and citizens are urged to display the Stars and Stripes today.

Around Farmingdale today, flag displays varied from the simple to more ornate. The VFW Hall on Main Street has a depository for used and torn flags, which residents are urged to use.

Do you have a flag hanging today? We want to see it. Log in to the site and upload it to this photo gallery.
