Question of the Day: Welcoming the Golf Tournament?

Farmingdale businesses and civic leaders are hoping that the crowds attending the Barclays Tournament in August will spill over to Main Street and beyond.

plans on placing a large sign on the Bartone warehouse near the LIRR station pointing commuters toward Main Street. Though many who plan on attending the tournament will be bused straight to Bethpage State Park and bypass Main Street, a sizable crowd is expected to filter into town by train. Those who are driving themselves to the tournament will also be encouraged to stick around and enjoy all Main Street has to offer.
