Question of the Day: a Soda Crackdown
What would you do if someone tried to limit your choice of drinks?

While it's hard to picture Mayor Ralph Ekstrand banning the sale of large sugary drinks in an effort to curb obesity, Farmingdale residents who travel into the city could encounter it.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a plan Thursday that would ban large servings of soda or other drinks at movie theaters, arenas, restaurants and delis. Only sweetened drinks over 16 ounces that contain more than 25 calories per 8 ounces are covered. The announcement immediately brought both criticism and praise. The goal is totry to reduce the ever-increasing levels of obesity in the country, especially among youngsters.
