Reworld™ Completes Post-Holiday Wreath Disposal Following Wreaths Across America
The post-holiday effort ensures that wreaths honoring fallen veterans are handled with care and sustainability

Reworld™, a leader in sustainable waste solutions, recently completed the annual collection and environmentally responsible disposal of wreaths placed at Long Island National Cemetery and Calverton National Cemetery as part of Wreaths Across America. The post-holiday effort ensures that wreaths honoring fallen veterans are handled with care and sustainability once the commemorative period concludes.
“For our team, participating in Wreaths Across America is about showing up with intention and gratitude,” said Maureen Early, Lead Community Relations Specialist at Reworld™. “It is our privilege to support our veterans that served and remember the lives they lived, sacrifices they made and making sure their stories continue to be told. Ensuring these wreaths are properly handled after the holidays is part of showing ongoing respect for those who served, while also staying true to our responsibility to care for the environment.”
Each December, approximately 16,000 wreaths are laid at Long Island National Cemeteries by volunteers as part of the national Wreaths Across America ceremony, which honors the lives and service of U.S. veterans. Once the observance period ends, the company provides no-cost processing of wreaths from Long Island-area national cemeteries. Organic materials are properly handled, while metal frames from the wreaths placed are recycled at Reworld™ facilities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability. This annual effort helps divert materials from landfills and reflects the ongoing commitment to sustainable practices that support communities year-round.
