Fourth graders at Farmingdale School District’s Saltzman East Memorial Elementary School recently served as mentors to their youngest schoolmates.
The 4th graders participated in a mentor program with their kindergarten peers by partnering with them to complete a number of activities.
Among the activities was a team effort to make gingerbread houses.

The lesson was designed to teach the students about leadership, teamwork, and unity, school officials said.
