St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Farmingdale helps the homeless.

All generations of St. Luke's get together for the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless

The St. Luke’s Farmingdale Church Family at 170 Conklin St. in Farmingdale, got together to help the homeless on Long Island. The senior group “The Prime Timers” made 100 deluxe wash up kits and the Sunday school kids made 66 smaller kits. The wash up kits were delivered to the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless and distributed at the event called “Have a Heart for the Homeless held at SUNY Farmingdale. Our 7th grade Confirmation youth groups helped register the homeless guests, sort supplies to give them and participated in a candle light vigil. The event was very impactful and the students were amazed at the amount of homeless people on Long Island.
