Suffolk Duo Stole Man's Sneakers At Train Station: Police

Police say the two stole sneakers the man was carrying, and then stole cash from his car, too.

A man and woman from Suffolk were arrested this week for robbing a man at the Farmingdale train station earlier this month, police say.

According to police, a 34-year-old man was at the Farmingdale LIRR station on Aug. 7 at 11:35 p.m. when he was approached by Patricia Jermone, 20, of Pondview Drive, East Patchogue. Police say Jermone tried to snatch a pair of sneakers from the man's hands, and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, police say that Daniel Austin, 19, of Locust Drive, Bay Shore, approached the man with his hand in his waistband, making it look like he had a gun.

Police say Jermone and Austin stole the sneakers from the man, and then stole cash from the man's car, then fled the scene on foot.
