'Taste of LI' Almost Ready to Open
Farmingdale Village Board seeks to perfect permits for Long Island-grown store.
is creeping toward being fully approved to open. At Monday's work session, the discussed the complexity surrounding this little local spot.
According to the board's discussions, will function 24 hours a day as a kitchen, but will only be open to the public for part of the day. While the current permit would cover them if their hours ran between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., their being a 24-hour working kitchen could create a snag in the permit.
In addition, the board discussed whether or not A Taste of Long Island could be considered a manufacturer, since they can make and sell some of the products in-store.

The board decided to collaborate with legal and building departments to come up with a more unified way of deciding on the permit.
