Unidentified Man Killed While Crossing Route 109

A pedestrian was killed in Farmingdale Friday night after he was hit by a car while he was in the road of Route 109.

According to police, the man entered the southbound lanes of Route 109 at the Southern State overpass at 10:41 p.m. He was then struck by a 2018 Toyota Camry. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the Camry and an eye witness remained at the scene until police arrived. The Camry was impounded for a safety check.

The victim has yet to be identified by police.
