Synopsis of Jade by Rose Montague
Jade is a little bit shifter, a little bit witch, a little bit Fae, a little bit vamp, and a whole lot of fun. Jade is partnered with a shifter bear as police detectives work on a big case involving vamps killing humans. There is some mystery to the book and many surprises. Jade's origins, where she came from and why she is here are revealed along the way. Readers are in for a lot of humor, action, and fun. A visit to Faerie, assassination attempts, adventures in driving, a magical dagger, and a little romance make this book an enjoyable read.
Meet the Characters
There are 4 main characters in the book. The three J'amigo's (as they call themselves) are Jade (a mix of supernatural creatures), Jane (AKA London Jane, head vamp in the city), and Jill (The winter Queen). Then you have Rolfe who is a shifter bear and Jade's detective partner with the police department. The book explains how they come together and solve a series of murders.
Meet the Author
Readers love to familiarize themselves with authors. I have a series of fun questions to ask.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what is one thing you couldn't live without?
Coffee, chocolate, and red wine (this also happens to be about the only things Jade can eat).

Tell me something about yourself that might be funny to others? (other than writing)
My main goal was to have fun writing a fun book to read. My writing company was my four cats that would just stare at me in the wee hours of the morning, waiting for me to hit my thousand word goal, so they could get their food.
How did you begin your writing career?
When I was a teenager I submitted some short stories to some Sci-Fi and Fantasy magazines. All rejected and I would not continue this effort for several decades.
What is your favorite snack while writing?
Coffee.
Would you please share an odd behavior you’ve picked up while writing? (An example: during intense scenes, my fingers pound the keyboard.)
I start cussing at my computer, usually when it freezes or slows down as the 27 windows I have open at any one time overwhelm the poor thing.
Share a pet peeve of yours (related to writing or otherwise).
I read very fast, anywhere from 60-80 pages an hour, and I get upset when I can't finish a good book I started in one day. I'm good for about six or seven hours, you can do the math but I get irritated when I can't finish it before I have to sleep.
What is your day job?
A local booksore, previously a library. (Could it have been anything else?)
What would you say is the most challenging part of writing a book?
I lack patience, and writing a book requires a lot of that. It is a learning process.
What are your favorite TV shows?
I don't watch much TV but I enjoy The Voice and I have a big collection of DVD's.
Do you have specific techniques you use to develop the plot and stay on track?
I started with a brief outline and then went off the reservation. LOL. I have the ending of Book Two written in my head. It's going to be great. Now it's just a matter of getting to that point.
If someone came up to you and wanted to tell you about an idea or a book they were writing, what would you do? Or what advice would you give?
Start doing it and don't stop until you are done.
Which do you find more embarrassing to write, violence or sex?
My book has some violence which I prefer to call action scenes and just a little bit in terms of sexual situations. I would rate it PG-13.
