VIDEO: Local Officials and Celebrities Honor 9/11

Bethpage State Park hosted the first annual Long Island Remembers Tribute to 9/11 event.

In honor of the tenth anniversary of 9/11, held the first annual Long Island Remembers Tribute to 9/11 event on their polo grounds Sunday.

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, lead singer of the local band Firestone Diane Wagner, actress Kirstie Alley and the New York Police Department pipes and drums group, as well as many others, joined together in remembrance.

The day's profits benefited the non profit organization Nassau County Fire Fighters Operation Wounded Warrior, which donates items to wounded members of the armed services.

"Let us remember in our hearts all of the victims of that day," said Joe O'Grady, president of Operation Wounded Warrior. "Let us remember their ideals, their passions, the dreams they had, and let us ensure that those dreams become our realities in the life we live each day."
