VIDEO: Resident Honored by Village Board

Rosemary Trudden was acknowledged at Monday's meeting.

Rosemary Trudden, owner of , was recently named the 2011 Outstanding Small Businessperson of the Year by the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce.

“I am greatly honored to receive this very prestigious award, and I share it with everyone on staff at the funeral home," Trudden said. "I feel privileged to work with an outstanding staff. We have been a part of the community for 37 years.”

Each year, the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce encourages members to select an honoree for the award who is "an active member, owns or manages a business located in the community and has made a significant contribution to the local economy, to the advancement of the Chamber and has made a meaningful and important contribution to the general welfare of the local community," and the unanimously nominated Trudden for the award.
