Video: Dalers Set to Play in Empire Challenge

They will represent Long Island team in annual football all-star game.

Three Farmingdale seniors will play in the Empire Challenge football all-star game Tuesday, June 21 at Hofstra University.

Carl Brescia, Brian Prendergast and Kevin Wahl will represent Long Island on the gridiron one last time as they look to beat the New York City team in the 16th annual game meant to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis and youth football.

All three will play sports in college. Brescia, a linebacker, is headed to Merrimack College to play football. Prendergast will play lacrosse at Towson and Wahl will play running back at Springfield College in Massachusetts.

Thirteen former Dalers players have played in the game since its inception 16 years ago. 

Farmingdale coach Buddy Krumenacker will serve as the defensive coordinator for the game as well.
