Voter's Guide: Farmingdale School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Farmingdale residents will vote on the school district’s $158,880,867 proposed budget for the 2016-17 school year on Tuesday, May 17.

The proposal calls for a 0.97 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 0.17 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Three candidates are running for two trustee seats on the Farmingdale Board of Education. Candidates include:

  • Suzanne D’Amico
  • Michael Goldberg
  • John Brienza

On election day, residents can vote at Weldon E. Howitt Middle School East Gymnasium, located at 70 Van Cott Ave. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
