CBP: Cocaine Found in Woman's Backpack at JFK
Incident happened April 9, officials announced Friday.
A woman tried to smuggle several pounds of cocaine into John F. Kennedy Airport in her backpack earlier this month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Friday.
Segunda De La Rosa, of the United States, arrived from the Dominican Republic on April 9 and presented herself to JFK inspectors, officials said.
Officers said they “noticed that her backpack was unusually thick and heavy” so they inspected the panels. A white powder was found in the lining of the backpack that tested positive for cocaine, CBP said.
