Two Students from Lawrence Primary School to Showcase Artwork at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook

LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (FEBRUARY 2024)—Lawrence Primary School is thrilled to announce that two of its students, Jaretzmy Reyes Calerson and Hugo Moreno Soza, have received the prestigious honor of having their artwork displayed at the renowned Long Island Museum in Stony Brook. The exhibit, titled Colors of Long Island: Student Expressions, will run from February 8th through April 7th.
“We are thrilled to have Jaretzmy and Hugo’s beautiful artwork featured at the exhibit,” said Kristen McLoughlin, Principal of Lawrence Primary School. “This recognition not only validates their hard work and dedication but also encourages them to continue exploring their artistic abilities.”
The annual exhibit at the Long Island Museum showcases the artistic talents of students from across Long Island. With the theme Colors of Long Island, the exhibit offers a platform for students to creatively interpret what Long Island means to them. Some students draw inspiration from the scenic landscapes, capturing the mesmerizing beauty of the region, while others choose to explore the rich cultural diversity that defines Long Island.

Anne Young, an art teacher from Lawrence Primary School noted that the “theme allows for various creative interpretations, and that makes this show so exciting."
