An Inwood man opened a bank account and used it to deposit stolen checks worth thousands, according to Nassau County Police.
Cops said Dean Afflick, 23, opened a personal bank account at TD Bank in Hollis, Queens, in Feb. 2013. Beginning in Sept. 2013, Afflick deposited two stolen checks totaling $26,000 in his account, cops said. Soon after, Afflick withdrew the cash from the accounts, police said.
Afflick was arrested in Inwood on an unrelated charge Tuesday, cops said. He was charged with third-degree grand larceny and two counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
