Five Towns School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Tuesday
Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.

Five Town residents will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for a proposed school budget and to elect school board trustees.
For Lawrence residents, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Primary School at Number Two School, Lawrence Middle School, Lawrence High School and Atlantic Beach Village Hall.
For Hewlett-Woodmere residents, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Woodmere Education Center.

The Lawrence Board of Education is proposing a budget of $99,561,935 for 2016-17. That represents a 1.01 percent spending increase over the current year.
The Hewlett-Woodmere Board of Education is proposing a budget of $115,354,132, representing a 1.52 percent spending increase with a 0 percent increase in the school tax levy.

Voters will also elect school board trustees on Tuesday.
In Lawrence, incumbents Michael Hatten and Tova Plaut will be running unopposed while incumbent David Sussman will be running against challenger Asher Matathias. The three terms are for three years.
In Hewlett-Woodmere, incumbent Mitchell A. Greebel and Daniella Simon are both running unopposed for the two open seats. Harold Kislik is not seeking re-election. The terms are for three years.
