Gunman Robs Cedarhurst Bank

The robbery occurred Sunday morning.

A bank in Cendarhurst was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday morning.

According to police, a man entered Wells Fargo, located at 464 Central Avenue, displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from a 21-year-old male teller at 9:14 a.m.

The teller complied and the robber fled the scene on foot southbound onto Spruce Street toward Broadway with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

There were five employees and one customer inside the bank at the time of the robbery, police said. No injuries were reported.

The robber was described as black, in his 30s, about 6-feet to 6-foot-1, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black-half face cloth mask, black knit type gloves and sneakers.

Police are anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
