Hewlett-Woodmere Residents Approve School Budgets
Residents went to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for the budget and Board of Education trustees.

Voters in the Hewlett-Woodmere School District took to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes for the budget, for ballot measures and for Board of Education Trustees.
Voters approved the district's proposed $116.4 million budget 1,059 to 361. However, the tax levy is staying the same for the second year in a row.
Residents also cast their votes for two ballot measures. Proposition 2 would allow the district to spend $14.1 million from reserves for capital improvement projects around the district. It passed, 1,090 to 331. Proposition 3 would create a 2017 Capital Reserve Fund. It also passed, 1,076 to 340.
