Lawrence Primary School Second Grade Students Enjoy Educational Trip to United Skates of America

The second-grade classes at Lawrence Primary School recently enjoyed an exciting and educational field trip to United Skates of America, where students combined learning with active fun on the skating rink.

During the visit, students participated in a brief STEAM-based lesson focused on the science and design of roller skates. They explored how skates are built, how wheels and balance work together, and the engineering concepts that help skaters move safely and smoothly.

Students also discussed the importance of skating safety, learning key tips for maintaining balance, staying aware of others on the rink, and practicing safe movement while skating. After the lesson, the students eagerly took to the rink to put their new knowledge into action. Laughter and excitement filled the arena as classmates skated together, encouraged one another, and built confidence on wheels.

“We are always excited to provide opportunities that bring classroom learning to life,” said Dr. Kristen Panzarella, Lawrence Primary School Principal. “This trip allowed students to engage in hands-on learning while also having fun and staying active.”
