Teen Arrested For Drawing Swastikas in Front of Nassau Homes

The 17-year-old drew the graffiti on the sidewalk after finding a piece of chalk on the ground earlier this month, police say.

CEDARHURST, NY - A Lawrence teen was arrested on Sunday for drawing a swastikas in front of two Cedarhurst homes earlier this month, according to Nassau Police.

On March 7 at about 5 p.m., 17-year-old Carlos A. Rivera was walking southbound on Oxford Road when he found a piece of chalk on the ground and proceeded to draw swastikas in front of two different homes on Oxford Road, police said.

An investigation by detectives led to the arrest of Rivera on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. at his home, police said.

He is charged with two counts of first degree aggravated harassment, police said.

He was issued a desk appearance ticket to respond on April 13.
