Man Arrested Scouting Homes, Cars To Burglarize: Police

Police say the man had burglar's tools on him when he was arrested in the early morning hours.

A Queens man was arrested early Thursday morning after police say he was caught scouting homes and cars to burglarize.

According to police, a call came in of two men looking into cars and house windows on Fieldstone Lane and Heatherfield Road in Valley Stream around 4:15 a.m. An investigation led to the arrest of Anthony W. Kinlocke, 18, of 227th Street, Springfield Gardens. Police say he matched the description of one of the men, and had wire cutters, a screwdriver and a piece of a vehicle's ignition cylinder on him.

An investigation found that a home on Fieldstone Lane was damaged, police say, and a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle had its ignition cylinder damaged in an attempt to start it and drive away.
