Man Burglarizes Two Businesses, Crashes Car Within an Hour: Police
The man broke into an auto repair shop and a dry cleaners on Saturday morning, police say.

EAST ROCKAWAY, NY - A Centerport was arrested after burglarizing two businesses and crashing a car in East Rockaway within an hour on Saturday morning, according to Nassau Police.
At 6:52 a.m., Adam Tweedie, 31, used a cement block to break the front glass door of Chuck’s Auto on 157 Franklin Square and entered the business, police said.
He then fled with no proceeds.

At 6:58 a.m. Tweedie slipped through an opening in a fence at Pinnacle Contracting on 252 Franklin Avenue but left without any proceeds, police said.
A short time later, at 7:05 a.m. he entered a 2014 Nissan Altima that was left running in front of 380 Franklin Avenue and fled in the car, police said.

While driving southbound on Ocean Avenue he crashed hit a utility pole and crashing into a northbound Ford Fusion before running away from the scene, police said.
At 8 a.m. Tweedie then entered Minute Man Dry Cleaners on 89 Ocean Avenue and stole cash from the register before fleeing on foot, police said.
He was found by Fifth Precinct Officers a short time later on Main Street in East Rockaway and placed under arrest, police said.
At the time of his arrest he was in possession of the keys to the Nissan and cash from the dry cleaner, according to police.
There were no injuries reported from the accident.
Tweedie is charged with two counts of third degree burglary, third degree grand larceny, third degree criminal possession of stolen property, third degree criminal trespass, and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.
He will be arraigned on Sunday.
