Nassau Man Dies After Falling Out Of Truck, Being Hit By Trailer

Police say he was sitting in the back of the truck and fell out when the truck made a turn.

A man died after he fell out of a truck in Valley Stream and was run over by a trailer Tuesday morning, police say.

According to Nassau police, a 53-year-old man was driving a 1995 Mitsubishi dump truck with a trailer attached when he stopped at a light at Wheeler Avenue and Rockaway Parkway at 7:37 a.m. As the light turned green, the trucked pulled away, which police say caused Roberto Ulloa, 47, of Hempstead, who was sitting in the back of the truck, to fall onto the road. Ulloa was then hit by the trailer, suffering serious trauma.

Ulloa was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor at 8:31 a.m. The truck and trailer were both impounded for a brake and safety test.
