Nassau Man Pushed To Ground, Robbed By Two Others

Police say the assailants stole an envelope full of cash from the man's pocket.

A man was pushed to the ground and robbed while walking to his car in Lawrence Tuesday night.

According to police, the 49-year-old man was walking to his car parked on Burnisde Avenue, near Washington Place, at 11 p.m. when he was approached from behind by two men and pushed to the ground. The men reached into his pocket and pulled out an envelope containing cash. One of the men then pointed an unknown object at his back and stole his wallet. The two men then fled on foot.

Police say the victim was not injured. The robbers were were described as tall, 20 to 30 years old and wearing dark clothes. One was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477), or call 911. All callers will remain confidential, and you could receive a reward if your information leads to an arrest.
