'Sweetest Lovebug' Peaches Overlooked, Awaits Forever Home On Long Island

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Peaches is a young, energetic pup looking for her forever home, and she is currently awaiting it at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington.

Shelter staff say Peaches is a favorite among staff and volunteers, and her playful personality keeps everyone entertained, including older children.

Peaches needs plenty of exercise, training, and an experienced adopter who can help her thrive, shelter staff said.

Staff believe Peaches may be overlooked because of the stigma surrounding pit bull-type dogs and black-coated dogs in shelters.

"These biases are often rooted in misconceptions, and we hope to help change that narrative by showing people what a sweet, loving, and deserving dog Peaches truly is," shelter staff said.

Peaches loves spending time outside her kennel and is looking for a comfortable, safe home where she can settle in and thrive.

"She's been overlooked for far too long, give Peaches a moment to warm up, and you'll meet the sweetest lovebug who just wants to be someone's one and only," shelter staff said.
