Town Of Hempstead Approves Green Acres Leases: See What Stores Are Coming To The Mall

The Town of Hempstead approved a series of leases for new stores at the Green Acres Mall this week.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — Four new stores could be coming to the Green Acres Mall after the Town of Hempstead’s Industrial Development Agency approved a slate of new leases at its May 19 meeting, the IDA announced.

According to the IDA, the first of the four establishments is Escapology, a themed escape room chain that places visitors in a themed room and gives them an hour to complete a “mission.” That Escapology space, the IDA said, will occupy just over 44,000 square feet in the mall, employing 16 people at average annual salaries between $125,000 and $150,000.

Next among the new occupants is Four Leaf Federal Credit Union, which will occupy an almost 2,000-square-foot storefront in the mall and employ four people at an average annual rate of $98,000.

Finally, the IDA approved leases to a pair of stores known to mallgoers the world over: Claire’s and Zumiez. The Claire’s location will bring the jewelry and accessories business into a 2,208 square-foot space with three full-time employees and three part-timers. The average salaries at Claire’s will range from $17 to $25 per hour.

As for the Zumiez, the skate and snowboard apparel retailer will set up shop in a 2,656 square-foot space, employing two full-time employees and eight part-timers in what will be Zumiez’s sixth Long Island location.
