WEATHER UPDATE: Five Towns Hour-By-Hour Snow, Ice Storm Forecast
Winter weather advisory in effect until Tuesday morning.

All of Long Island remains under a winter weather advisory until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The island is expected to receive less than an inch of snow, along with between one and two-tenths of an inch of ice accumulation before the precipitation tapers off early Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service says.
The NWS is warning of “very treacherous travel conditions today and tonight especially on any untreated surfaces as they will be very slippery.”

So far, Nassau–especially the North Shore–has taken the brunt of the storm, with several school districts deciding to close on Monday.

- This Afternoon- Freezing rain and sleet likely before 3pm, then snow, freezing rain, and sleet likely. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northeast wind 15 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.2 of an inch possible. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
- Tonight- Snow, freezing rain, and sleet likely, becoming all snow after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 24. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northeast wind around 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
- Tuesday- Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 33. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. North wind 15 to 17 mph.
- Tuesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 20. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. North wind around 16 mph.
