• Gillen Announces $250K For Floral Park FD To Purchase Hook-And-Ladder Truck (patch.com) — Floral Park’s fire protection is getting a major boost, with $250,000 in new federal funding helping the village fire department replace its 30-year-old, noncompliant hook-and-ladder truck. The new $2.7 million vehicle will better serve Floral Park’s 16,000 residents and neighboring communities, improving safety for both firefighters and the public as the area’s multi-story buildings and population continue to grow.
