• Amazon's latest complex rises outside of Amsterdam (timesunion.com) — Construction of Amazon’s 3.2‑million‑square‑foot warehouse along Route 5S in the town of Florida is on schedule and expected to bring about 750 full‑time jobs plus part‑time positions by 2027. After neighbors complained about noise and dust, the town pushed builders to limit work hours and add dust‑control measures and powerwashing for nearby homes. Local leaders say the Thruway‑adjacent site should strengthen Florida’s growing distribution hub.
