She will appear in conversation with acclaimed novelist Meg Wolitzer, author of "The Female Persuasion" and "The Wife."

Join us on Shoreview Road on Sunday, May 3, from 1 pm to 5 pm,&nbsp;for our first BPF Block Party! There will be all of the things that make block parties so much fun for all ages—bouncers, games, relay races, food, drinks, neighbors, and friends—with a suggested ticket price of $40 per family to benefit the Baxter’s Pond Foundation.&nbsp;&nbsp;This event is open to anyone who supports the Baxter’s Pond Foundation, not just Village residents.

The morning of May 9th will be a busy one at Baxter’s Pond!&nbsp; Please join the Baxter's Pond Foundation (BPF)&nbsp;at 9 am for a Clean Up Event to pick up litter, do some planting, and make our park beautiful. All ages welcome!&nbsp;&nbsp;Meet at the flagpole in comfortable clothing; gloves and garbage bags provided. At 10 am, the native-landscaping professionals from Spadefoot Design &amp; Construction will provide volunteers with hands-on training in how to maintain the new native plantings at Baxter’s Pond while keeping invasives from making a comeback. Join Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) for this journaling workshop to learn how writing can help you to gain insight into your own experiences and can be a powerful way to connect with others. The instructor will take you through short writing exercises and show you how you can use journaling in your life. No writing experience is needed.
