Car Catches Fire On Flushing's Main Street: FDNY
Firefighters rushed to extinguish a car engulfed in flames outside New World Mall in Flushing.

FLUSHING, QUEENS — A car caught on fire in Flushing midday Monday, according to the FDNY.
The car became engulfed in flames on Main Street outside New World Mall in Flushing about 1:30 p.m., a Fire Department spokesman said. There are no reported injuries.
Traffic in the area grew heavy while firefighters closed off a portion of Main Street by 40th Road to extinguish the flames, according to videos posted to Citizen and a Google Maps traffic condition report.

Firefighters were still on the scene as of 2:12 p.m., according to the FDNY.
