NYPD, FDNY To Face Off In Charity Baseball Game At Citi Field
This year's matchup will be part of a special single-admission doubleheader.
FLUSHING, NY — The NYPD and FDNY will take the field at Citi Field on Wednesday, August 19, for the fifth annual Battle of the Badges charity baseball game, presented by Your Local Ford Stores.
This year’s matchup will be part of a special single-admission doubleheader, beginning approximately one hour after the conclusion of the 1:10 p.m. Mets vs. Padres game, around 5 p.m. The game will feature former professional and collegiate baseball players who now serve as New York City police officers and firefighters.
Mets Hall of Famer David Wright will help host the event, which combines baseball with community support. The Mets will donate $5 from every single-game and group-sale ticket for the August 19 game to local FDNY and NYPD charities.
