6-Month-Old Forest Hills Girl Dies After Falling Off Bed: NYPD

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS - A baby girl died after falling off her bed Thursday night in Forest Hills., police said. Cops found six-month-old Josephina Kalekhman unconscious and unresponsive in her bedroom just after 11 p.m. She was rushed to North Shore University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the mother placed the baby on her bed, left the room, then returned to find the baby wasn't there. The infant had rolled off the bed, NBC reported. There were no obvious signs of trauma, according to the NYPD.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
