Balcony Jumper Stabs Man To Death In Flushing Apartment

The victim and his wife were asleep when the assailant entered their apartment early morning, according to reports.

FLUSHING, NY — A person seen moving from balcony to balcony at a Flushing apartment building stabbed a man to death early Sunday morning, according to police.

The killing occurred just after 2 a.m. on 57th Road, and the victim, a 35-year-old man, died at the scene, police said. Another 35-year-old man was taken into custody, according to police, who were unsure if the victim and his assailant knew one another.

The victim and his wife were asleep at the time of the attack, the New York Post reported, adding the woman fled the apartment screaming. When police found the suspect behind the building, he resisted arrest and was shocked by a Taser, according to the Post, which noted the attacker is believed to have been high at the time of the incident.

The name of the victim was pending notification of family as of Sunday morning, and the name of the assailant was pending formal charges, police said.
