Considering yesterday’s story of alleged sexual abuse of young students, it’s hard for parents not to ponder the unthinkable — how safe is my child when I take them to school every day?

The story of what happened at P.S. 174 in Rego Park could be in the news for some time, and could unfold in unpredictable ways. We want to know what gives parents pause, and what assuages those fears, when situations like this arise.
