We will also discuss current scientific models of the mind to draw upon contemplative tradition. This Workshop is based on Dr. Alkalay’s book, Meditation: A Practitioner’s Handbook. Topics covered in this workshop: Buddha’s Paradigm, The Universe of Discourse of Meditation, Benefits of Meditation, Aspects of Ritual, The Importance of Intent, Yantra and Mantra, The Science of Breath, Practical Aspects, Meditation in Motion. Besides lecture and practice, there will be ample opportunity for open discussion and practicum. You will leave this class equipped to engage in a personal practice of meditation, ready to enjoy the enhanced mental clarity, balance and equanimity this will bring into your life.
