FHHS Boys Basketball Tops Flushing, 55-46
Rangers take home big victory on the road against cross-borough rival.
The Forest Hills High School Rangers traveled a short distance to play the Flushing High School Red Devils in a division matchup Friday night. After some early frustration for the Forest Hills squad, the team managed to pull away, defeating the Red Devils, 55-46.
Flushing jumped out to an early 7-1 in the contest. The Rangers came shooting back to finish the first quarter 16-11. Their full-court pressure forced Flushing to turn the ball over three times in a row, led by Nicholas Pagett's back-to-back three-pointers. The lefty finished the first half with four three-pointers and 13 points.
In the second frame, Flushing jumped back on top with minutes to go before the half ended, but not before Forest Hills senior Denzel Dulin hit a last-second 3-pointer to cut the Red Devils lead to 1-point.

Forest Hills Head Coach Ben Chobhaphand and his Rangers went into the third quarter down one point, but he was clearly frustrated by his kids' play. Whatever he said during his halftime speech worked, because the Rangers came out in the second half clearly on a mission.
It might have been a low scoring and sloppy play but the Rangers took the lead in the third quarter and never looked back. Thanks to the leadership of Dulin, working his way to the hoop to draw foul after foul, his team leading 18 points (11 points in the second half) sealed a win for the Rangers.
