Fire At Flushing Supermarket; 1 Taken To Hospital
G.W. Supermarket on Northern Boulevard was damaged after a fire Sunday morning.

FLUSHING, NY — A firefighter was taken to the hospital following a grocery store fire Sunday in Flushing.
The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. at G.W. Supermarket in the 100 block of Northern Boulevard, according to the FDNY. A photo of the scene posted on Twitter by Councilmember Sandra Ung showed broken windows and damaged signage.
The fire took more than an hour to get under control and 60 members of the fire department responded to the scene, the agency said, noting a firefighter was taken to a hospital.
