More about Love and Forgiveness – A Call for Art:
With the support of the Fetzer Institutute, Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhist Society has developed this unique art competition for NYC middle and high school students in order to stimulate an interfaith dialogue around the topic of loveand forgiveness. The competition has offered young people throughout the city an opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings about this topic, using art as a medium to connect them across differences in faith and cultural identity.
The evening will feature an exhibit of the top 35 pieces of student art from our competition, as well as a ceremony to award five $500 prizes to the top selections. The Venerable Guang Guo Shih, head of Ling Jiou’s NY center will speak, along with other invited clergy.
