Operation Backpack Concludes in Queens

Residents can still donate through Manhattan office through Wednesday.

Queens residents came together to help homeless students in a big way this month, making Operation Backpack a big success.

City Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz, D-Forest Hills, and school supplies in the borough, and came away with a good-sized haul.

Residents donated 50 backpacks and hundreds of school supplies for students through Koslowitz's office.

Last year, across the city, more than 8,000 backpacks were donated. This year's totals are not yet complete, as city residents can still make drop-offs through Wednesday afternoon at the central office in Manhattan, located at 340 West 85th St. in Manhattan.
