The 27-year-old paid women in the Philippines to engage in sexual acts with children and produce child porn, according to the charges.

REGO PARK, QUEENS - A 27-year-old Queens man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for soliciting child pornography.

Keith Liwanag paid women in the Philippines to engage in sexual acts with children and to produce and send child pornography to him over Facebook Messenger, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District Court of New York. Liwanag then shared the videos online. Law enforcement seized more than 50 recorded video conferences between Liwanag and women engaged in child sexual abuse.

The Rego Park resident pleaded guilty in June 2018 to sexual exploitation of a child. He has been incarcerated since his arrest in 2017, a spokesperson said.

“This is a just sentence for a defendant who used technology to victimize vulnerable children half a world away,” U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue said in a statement. “Protecting children from sexual exploitation will always be a priority of this Office.”

Liwanag must register as a sex offender after completing his sentence.
