G Train Shuttles This Weekend

The dreaded G train shuttle is in effect this weekend, but that's the just the beginning! The next phase of the MTA's also gets under way at 11:30 pm, upending the lives of anyone who uses  the F or G line in South Brooklyn for at least the next year.

Here's the breakdown:

  • The G train will be replaced by a free shuttle bus between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue this weekend.
  • The F train will not run between Jay Street-MetroTech and Church Avenue in preparation for the Culver Viaduct work. Instead, a free shuttle bus will replace the train this weekend.
  • Begining Monday, Manhattan- and Queens-bound service on both lines will be suspended at the Smith-9th Streets and 15th Street-Prospect Park stations through May, in addition to other service changes explained in detail .
  • R train service will be suspended in entirety this weekend.
  • New Lots Avenue-bound 4 trains will skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway stations.
  • Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 trains will skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway stations.
  • D trains will run local between DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street in Brooklyn.
