Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival Returns To Brooklyn Next Week

FORT GREENE, NY — The Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival will return to Brooklyn next weekend bringing a free afternoon of live jazz to the Fort Greene community.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 3 to 7 p.m. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, September 13.

The free outdoor event will be held near 100 Washington Park, with the festival site located inside Fort Greene Park near the park’s central lawn and Washington Park entrance.

The festival will feature performances by the Dr. Eric Frazier Quintet, led by Dr. Eric Frazier on vocals, tap and percussion, Steve Cromity on vocals, Eddie Allen on trumpet, Lou Vega on guitar, Kiyoko Layne on keyboards and Don Nicks on bass.

The lineup will also include the Eric Person Quartet.

Organized with support from the Fort Greene Park Conservancy, NYC Parks and Brooklyn organizations, the festival offers a neighborhood-focused afternoon of live music in one of Brooklyn’s most iconic parks.
