NYC Parent Academy at LIU Brooklyn Offers Free Workshops for Parents - Sat. Nov. 10 at 9:00 a.m.

LIU Brooklyn is happy to collaborate with the New York City Department of Education on the launch of the NYC Parent Academy on Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at LIU (1 University Plaza, corner of Flatbush and Dekalb Avenues).

The NYC Parent Academy is a collaborative citywide program dedicated to supporting student achievement by creating and enhancing partnerships within school communities and strengthening parent involvement. Conference topics include: “Preparing for the Parent Teacher Conferences: Questions You Should Ask,” “Standard One: Fostering Communication” and “Parents as Active Partners.

NYC DOE School Chancellor Dennis Walcott is scheduled to attend. 

Who Should Attend?: Parent leaders, principals, parent coordinators, guidance counselors, community partners, SLT members, parent and school teams and school staff.

Presented by the New York City Department of Education and LIU Brooklyn.
