NYC Parent Academy at LIU Brooklyn Offers Free Workshops for Parents - Sat. Nov. 10 at 9:00 a.m.

NYC Parent Academy, information workshops, free and open to the public. Saturday, Nov. 10 or 9.am.

LIU Brooklyn is happy to collaborate with the New York City Department of Education on the launch of the NYC Parent Academy on Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at LIU (1 University Plaza, corner of Flatbush and Dekalb Avenues).

The NYC Parent Academy is a collaborative citywide program dedicated to supporting student achievement by creating and enhancing partnerships within school communities and strengthening parent involvement. Conference topics include: “Preparing for the Parent Teacher Conferences: Questions You Should Ask,” “Standard One: Fostering Communication” and “Parents as Active Partners.

NYC DOE School Chancellor Dennis Walcott is scheduled to attend.
