Car Thief Uses Chokehold Then Escapes In Stolen Ford Escape, Police Say
The 62-year-old victim, who was knocked out by the chokehold, awoke on a bathroom floor to discover he had been robbed, said police.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a car thief who put a man in a chokehold until he lost consciousness then fled the scene in his victim’s car.
The 62-year-old victim was in a Brooklyn Navy Yard restroom at 63 Flushing Ave. on Sept. 7 around 10:20 p.m. when his attacker snuck up behind him and put him in a chokehold, police said.
The man lost consciousness during the struggle and when he awoke discovered his Samsung Galaxy 7 and the keys to his 2013 Ford Escape had been stolen, said police.

Emergency responders treated the man for minor injuries and police used the man’s cellphone to track down his stolen car, which they found parked on S. Elliot Place near the Atlantic Center.
The victim’s wallet, which he had left in the car, was gone, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a five-foot-tall man last seen wearing a baseball cap, red hoodie, jeans and black sneakers.
