More Crime at the Atlantic Terminal Mall in This Week's Police Blotter
Everyone knows the Bruce Ratner-owned mall is sketchy, but this week was particularly bad.

There were plenty of crimes committed around the notorious Atlantic Terminal mall last week, including two incidents in both Target and the Pathmark supermarket. Here’s a rundown.
- A thief snatched a teen’s Blackberry out of his hand at the Atlantic Terminal mall on March 7. The victim told cops he was approaching the entrance to the mall on Flatbush Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Hanson Place at around 3:30 p.m. when the stranger made his move.
- A pickpocket swiped a man’s credit card while he shopped at PathMark on March 8. The victim told cops he was cruising the aisles of the grocery store on Atlantic Avenue at around 6:30 p.m when he was bumped from behind. About 15 minutes later he realized he was missing his MasterCard, along with two IDs.
- A foolhardy thief tried to steal cash right in front of a security guard at the Pathmark on March 12, but ended up being hauled away in handcuffs. The guard told cops he was arguing with the 20-year-old suspect at around 7:30 a.m. when the bozo eyed another employee collecting money from the U-Scan self- serve registers. The daring defendant then snatched the bag full of cash and made a run for it, but was caught by other security guards. Officer Roberto Valdes got credit for the collar.
- A thief swiped a woman’s wallet while she shopped at the sketchy Target in the mall on March 12. The victim told cops she realized her property was missing at around 2:30 p.m. She lost an assortment of credit cards, IDs and cash that were worth a grand total of $1,620.
- A thief swiped a woman’s purse while she shopped in Target on March 13. The victim told cops she was in the store at around 11:20 a.m. when she realized that her bag, containing, an assortment of credit cards, IDs and $60, had been removed from her shopping cart.
Fist For a Dollar
Five brutes roughed up a teen for his cash but left the scene empty-handed on March 7.

The 16-year-old victim told cops he was on St. Edwards Street between Myrtle and Park avenues at around 3:30 p.m. when the group approached. One of them told the youngster, “Give me a dollar!” One of his accomplices then clocked the kid in the face, while the rest of the group searched through his pockets, which were empty.
Robber Busted

A violent robber was arrested minutes after attempting to steal a woman’s stuff on March 9.
The victim told cops she was at S. Portland and DeKalb avenues at around 7:20 p.m. when the suspect knocked her to the ground from behind. The 30-year-old woman let out a scream, and the brute punched her in the face and made a run for it. Officer Jason Pena quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect after canvassing the area.
Attack in Ingersoll
Two thugs held up a pair of men at gunpoint at the Ingersoll Houses on March 11.
The victims told cops they were inside an apartment on Monument Walk between Myrtle and Park avenues at around 11:55 a.m. when the brutes stormed in and ordered them on the floor. While brandishing a silver gun the men rifled through the victims’ pockets, stealing a wallet, a debit card, a cellphone and an assortment of IDs all worth a total of $570. The punks also pistol-whipped both victims for good measure.
More Fright in Fort Greene Park
A thief stole $190 at gunpoint from a man sitting in Fort Greene Park on March 12.
The victim told cops he was in the park at DeKalb Avenue and Fort Greene Place at around 2:45 p.m. when the man approached and flashed a silver handgun. The victim then handed over the cash.
The incident comes on the heels of several other violent confrontations in the park last week.
Stick-Up
A punk intimidated a man into handing over $25 on March 13.
The victim told cops he was on Grand Avenue between Greene and Lexington avenues at around 7:37 a.m. when the suspect approached and said, “Give me your money, I have a gun.” The perp then made a move towards his back, gesturing as if he was about to draw a weapon. The victim complied and the thief walked off.
Well-Mannered Robber
A robber snuck into an 85-year-old woman’s apartment on March 9, but then left without incident after the lady caught him red-handed.
The elderly woman told cops that the man must have snuck into her apartment on Lafayette Avenue between Classon and Washington avenues through a window shortly before 5 a.m. when she came upon him standing in the middle of her living room.
The crook then said, “I’m not going to hurt you,” and the lady let him out of the front door. He didn’t steal anything, but cops are still charging him with burglary.
Trouble on the Train
A thief snatched a woman’s wallet while she rode a Manhattan-bound D train on March 7.
The victim told cops she got off the train at the Atlantic-Pacific Station at around 9 a.m. and realized she was missing her billfold, which contained an assortment of IDs, credit cards and cash worth a total of $502.
Purse Swipe
A thief was busted swiping a woman’s purse off of her chair at on March 13.
A witness at the bar at Lafayette and S. Portland avenues told cops he spotted a 45-year-old man grab the woman’s bag at around midnight and enter the bathroom. Hours later Officer Jerry Thompson arrested the suspect and an accomplice, but the victim didn’t recover her $50.
Grocery Bandit
A pickpocket stole a woman’s wallet from her bag while she shopped at the Associated Supermarket on Myrtle Avenue on March 11.
The victim told cops she was in the store at Hall Street at around 7:05 p.m. when she realized her wallet was missing from her bag. The thief got $150 and a credit card.
Vehicles Vanished
At least three rides disappeared into the night last week in the 88th Precinct. Here’s a breakdown.
- A thief stole a 1987 Buick Regal parked at Adelphi Street and Willoughby Avenue. The owner of the auto told cops he had parked it on March 6 at around midnight. A day later it was gone.
- A thief stole a 2006 Pontiac G6 on March 11. The owner told cops he had parked his ride on Navy Street between Park and Flushing avenues at around 8:45 a.m. About four hours later it was gone.
- Thieves stole a motorcycle parked at Carlton and Myrtle avenues on March 13. The owner told cops he saw the perps load his ride into a Green Plymouth Voyager and take off at around 6:15 p.m. — only minutes after he had parked it.
